Marilyn Lusher of Waterford has been named 2013 Realtor of the Year by the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors.
Lusher, of RE/MAX Home Team in Waterford, was honored earlier this week at an assocation event at the Spa at Norwich Inn in Norwich. Her award was announced by Samantha Storey, Realtor of the Year committee chair.
At the same event, association President Paul K. Higgins introduced William G. Reardon Jr. of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in East Lyme as winner of the group's Rookie of the Year award. Carol Christiansen of RE/MAX Realty Group in Gales Ferry was the association's nominee for Connecticut Realtor of the Year.
"Successful Realtors know the importance of being involved in their community," Lusher said in submitted information for the award.
Lusher is a member of the regional Realtors association's and the state assocation's boards of directors and serves as chair of the Waterford Board of Assessment Appeals and as a member of the Waterford Week Committee, among other professional and community groups she has helped over the years.
The North Franklin-based Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors is a professional organization that provides training, market information and legislative representation to real-estate professionals in New London and Windham counties.
