Norwich — A Norwich man was arrested this morning after police said he injured one person and damaged several vehicles from a local bus company when he shot a pellet gun from a wooded area.
John E. Lemieux Jr., 23, of 44 Norwich Avenue, Unit 36, was charged with second-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Police said at about 6:36 a.m. police were sent to the First Student Bus Company at 83 Jewett City Road for a report of a someone shooting a pellet gun at several vehicles in the parking lot.
Police said they later learned that an employee was struck in the leg by one of the projectiles. The person, police said, sustained a minor injury.
Police found Lemieux fleeing from the scene while in possession of a pellet rifle.
He was arrested and is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond, pending his arraignment today in Norwich Superior Court.
