Ledyard — Police arrested Monday a Gales Ferry man for trespassing on the railroad tracks near the Dow Chemical Company on Route 12.

Francisco E. Ramirez, 22, of 7 Barry Drive, was charged with trespass, breach of peace and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Ledyard police said at about 11:08 a.m. they were contacted by Dow officials to report a man wearing camouflage was walking towards their facility.

When Ramirez was located by police, he ran into the wooded area near River Drive in Gales Ferry. After a short time in the woods, Ramirez was taken into custody without incident.

He is being held on $5,000 bond, pending his arraignment Monday in New London Superior Court.
