Lyme — Two teenagers are still hospitalized after the truck they were riding in with two other teens crashed into a tree on a road in the Nehantic State Forest on Friday.

According to a statement from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection today, Carl Kampfer, 19, of East Lyme, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is in serious condition. Jaymee Holt, 19, of Waterford, was airlifted to Hartford Hospital and is now at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford with non-life threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old male driver from Waterford and a 17-year-old female passenger from Waterford were taken to Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Clinic in Essex, where they were treated and released, DEEP said.

At about 6 p.m. Friday, the state’s Environmental Conservation Police and state police in Westbrook responded to the state forest on Keeny Road, where a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck had struck a tree. The four teenagers were in the vehicle, according to DEEP. The accident is under investigation.
