Twice a month, all summer long, it's time for free Family Fun, Food, & Games on the Branford Town Green, brought to you by Community Dining Room (CDR) and East Shore District Health Department (ESDHD).
The gatherings continue every second and fourth Tuesday all summer long, with the next date set for July 23. Two more will follow on Aug. 13 and 27. Each event starts at 5:30 p.m. CDR and ESDHD host an hour of fun, family themed outdoor games, followed by a full picnic dinner.
If you plan to enjoy this great night out, don't forget to wear your sneakers and bring a water bottle and a blanket to spread on the grass, said CDR Executive Director Patricia Kral.
"Summer sports activities are a great way for family members of all ages to get outdoors and be active. Over the years, the Branford Town Green has become a focal point for summer activities, from Frisbee to running and walking to jazz concerts. We want to give back to the community by providing another way for the entire family to enjoy the beautiful warm weather together, exercise, and have some fun," said Kral.
Since 1985, CDR has served the shoreline providing nutritious meals 365 days a year through a home delivery program, lunch served in the CDR dining room Sunday through Friday and second and fourth Saturdays, Saturday morning family breakfast, Tuesday family dinner, and Wednesday night takeout dinner. CDR offers community service opportunities for local youth and vocational training for the disabled. For more information about the CDR, visit
