Montville — The Republican Town Committee endorsed seven candidates for Town Council on Thursday evening, including two from the Independence for Montville party.
Dana McFee, the only Republican on the current council, was renominated by the party. The other Republicans endorsed Thursday are Tom McNally, a former Water Pollution Control Authority employee and secretary of the school board; Donna Jacobson, a former chairperson of the Town Council who ran for mayor in 2011; Ellen Hillman, also a former councilor; and Rhonda DiMaggio.
The Independence for Montville candidates endorsed by Republicans are Jim Andriote, who chairs the third party, and Kathy Pollard.
For the Board of Education, Republicans endorsed incumbents Steve Loiler and Carrie Baxter, as well as newcomer Kim Navetta, who would fill one of three other open seats on that board.
Zoning Board of Appeals member Gregg Bassetti was renominated by the party, and Gene Jambor was endorsed for that board as well.
For a four-year term on the Board of Assessment Appeals, the Republicans nominated current alternate Will Pike. Joe Aquitante was nominated for a two-year term on that board.
