Griswold - A Griswold man was arrested Thursday after state police said he used a “dangerous instrument” to rob another man of prescription drugs and money.
Jeffrey Mumford, 30, was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree threatening, breach of peace and sixth-degree larceny.
Mumford posted a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear July 31 in Norwich Superior Court.
Police said at about 3:59 a.m. Thursday they responded to the area of 111 Main St. in Jewett City for a report of a robbery. The victim told police that Mumford threatened him before taking $340, drugs and a pocket knife.
Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Unit at Troop E assisted in the investigation.
