Yes, Bank Square Books in Mystic has become a regular tour spot for bestselling and up-and-coming authors who pass through the region on signing tours.
How does the store top such things?
By featuring TWO big time writers at the same event!
On Tuesday in the Mystic Arts Center, Bank Square presents a luncheon with J. Courtney Sullivan and Maggie Shipstead.
Sullivan, whose previous books include "Commencement" and "Maine," the latter of which was a Time magazine Best Book of the Year and a Washington Post Notable Book, has a brand new novel called "The Engagements."
Shipstead's "Seating Arrangements," now out in paperback, won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for First Fiction and the Dylan Thomas Prize.
Don't worry, though. Neither author carries her trophies around, and both are engaging and personable. Enjoy a catered lunch and discuss the works with two of literature's brightest young stars.
