Four temporarily displaced from Norwich fire

Norwich – A small fire in the basement of a two-story home at 205 Laurel Hill Ave. this morning temporarily displaced four people, fire officials say.

The fire was reported at 11:38 a.m. Firefighters from Laurel Hill Fire Department responded with aid from the Norwich Fire Department. The cause of the fire, which is still under investigation, appears to be electrical in nature, officials said.

The Red Cross is providing a place to stay for four residents, including one child, until electrical service is restored.
