Norwich – Democratic Alderwoman Deberey Hinchey submitted enough petition signatures this morning to qualify for a primary challenge to Democratic Town Committee endorsed candidate Charles Jaskiewicz.

Democratic Registrar of Voters Dianne Daniels this morning certified 432 signatures supporting Hinchey’s primary challenge. Hinchey needed 371 signatures of registered Norwich Democrats to qualify for the primary.

The primary will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Jaskiewicz won the town committee nomination by one vote, 35 to 34 on July 22.
