Eastern Connecticut Symphony Youth Orchestra Audtions

Adrian Sylveen, Conductor, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Youth Orchestra

The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Youth Orchestra begins the new semester on Monday, September 16, at Leonard Tyl Middle School, 166 Chesterfield Road, Oakdale, CT. Auditions and registration start at 5 PM. All new students and current String Ensemble students who are interested in moving into the Youth Orchestra are required to audition. Requirements for entrance into the string ensemble are two to four years musical experience and four plus years are requested for the youth orchestra.

Auditioning students should come prepared with an audition piece that will highlight their talents. Due to time constraints, students will be limited to 5 minutes. Rehearsals start at 6:30 PM and continue to 8:30 pm for the youth orchestra and 8 pm for the string ensemble. Fees for the year are $200. For families with two or more students enrolling simultaneously, there is a 25% discount for each student after the first. Adrian Sylveen will conduct the Youth Orchestra and Shannon Stevenson is the conductor of the string ensemble.
