Courage lacking and our priorities wrong

I would like to see our elected leaders take a more courageous stance and admit that the ridiculous amount of money spent on defense is obscene. Really, $750 million to repair a submarine that we do not need? The Cold War has been over for a long time. How many hungry children or homeless people could a little bit of that money feed? Members of Congress, including those from Connecticut, are owned by the military lobby and defense contractors that have turned us into a nation dedicated to warfare and killing.

And guess what? It is not their children who are getting maimed and dying.
