Willimantic – Police say they charged five underage Eastern Connecticut State University students with breach of peace late Thursday following reports of an out-of-control party in Willimantic late Thursday.
Police responded shortly before midnight to the area of Pennywood Lane and broke up a party of between 50 and 75 people. Five women between the ages of 18 and 20 were charged and released on a written promise to appear in court.
Those charged were: Bridget Begley, 19; Christina Dwyer, 18; Daniela Avila, 20; Leanna Cotter, 19; and Elizabete Amaral-Florido, 20. Police did not provide addresses for those charged.
Police, in a statement, said they expect more future arrests "as a result of these large, unregulated events."
