Tell Me Something is a Q&A feature that spotlights interesting people doing interesting things. It appears every Monday on graceforwomen.com.
Karrie Bulger is a photographer who also hosts "Moon Cheese Baby", which can be heard every other Sunday on WCNI New London (90.9FM). The radio show features live in-studio performances from local bands, guest DJs, and feels, she says, "like being hugged tightly by David Bowie for three hours straight."
Bulger's artwork is featured on the forthcoming album from local rockers Fatal Film and her first curated gallery show, "Casual Tornado," opens at New London's Hygienic Art Gallery on Sept. 14.
Bulger is married and lives in Groton but she's body-and-soul from a dusty patch in Texas.
Say you have a present day high school locker. Whose picture would be hanging in it?
My locker would be overflowing, mainly with overdue assignments, but also with an absurd amount of items. Here's just a glimpse of the madness: Photos of my husband Isaac and several of our dog and cat, Pablo and Mr. Kitty; an ultrasound photo of our first child we are expecting early next year; photos of all my closest friends; personal doodles/crafts/Polaroids; artwork from friends; and loads of album artwork from all my favorite bands.
