Stocking the Shetucket with salmon

Ellington - Trout Unlimited volunteer Ray Schaefer moved to help an Atlantic salmon that foundered after the fish was released into the Shetucket River as state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, (DEEP), personnel, along with volunteers from Trout Unlimited, stocked the river Thursday.

About 200 brood stock salmon from the DEEP Inland Fisheries' Kensington Hatchery were stocked in Crystal Lake in Ellington and the Shetucket Thursday.
