P.A.W. Fund donates $9,800

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut has announced awards totaling nearly $10,000 for three organizations helping animals.

The awards, through the foundation's People for Animals & Wildlife (P.A.W.) Fund, increased to more than $50,000 the amounts allocated to caring for Groton animals after a bequest by Josephine Sacco in 2007.

Awards this year were: $4,000 to the Animal Welfare League of New London County: $1,800 for Beech Brook Farm, for equine rescue: and $4,000 to Groton Animal Foundation, for emergency medical services.
