Judge orders guns returned to suspect in threats

Torrington (AP) — A Superior Court judge has ordered the state to return 13 guns to a Torrington man who is accused of threatening to shoot his coworkers.

Robert Zordan was charged in December with threatening and illegal possession of an assault weapon after coworkers in Farmington told police he had threatened to come to work with a gun and "take them out."

The Waterbury Republican-American reports (http://bit.ly/11ukiVm ) Judge Elizabeth Gallagher ruled last week that prosecutors failed to hold a hearing on the seizure in a timely manner.

Zordan told police he felt he was being treated unfairly at work, but denied making the threat.

His attorney, Rachel Baird, says Farmington police didn't follow the law, and she believes evidence resulting from the gun seizure should be thrown out of the criminal case.
