Stamford (AP) — Police have charged a 12-year-old girl with disorderly conduct, accusing the youngster of bullying a female classmate.

Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn says the bullying became so intense at the private middle school that the 13-year-old victim told her parents she was considering suicide.

Hohn said administrators at the unidentified middle school tried to deal with the problem, but called police when the bullying intensified.

He said the girl's parents called police Sept. 20 to complain about the bullying.

Hohn would not give details about the harassment. He said the girl was released into the custody of her parents.
