Griswold – An 81-year-old New Britain woman was found dead Friday after she was reported missing from the home of her daughter, state police said.

The woman, identified as Cecile Zieger, was found by state police divers at 11:45 a.m. Friday in the Quinebaug River near her daughter's home, police said. A preliminary investigation determined no criminal aspect to the death, police said. An autopsy will be performed by the Chief State's Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

Police used K-9 teams and an aviation unit aircraft to search the area near the daughter's home.
