Award-winning actor, musician, and author John Lithgow was at Branford's Tisko Elementary School on Oct. 24 to read aloud and act out several children's books he's authored, including his newest, Never Play Music Right Next to the Zoo. Lithgow played a CD with orchestral music while he sang the words to the book, encouraging 400 participating Tisko kids to join him in making the sounds of zoo animals. Lithgow was invited to read at Tisko by Karen Rosenthal of R.J. Julia Booksellers (left, holding book), who coordinated the event with Tisko reading specialist Joni Thomas (not pictured). Later that day, Lithgow was at R.J. Julia in Madison to talk about his new book.
