The Leetes Island Garden Club's mission to beautify Guilford takes to the runway on Friday, Nov. 15.
To help raise funds that assist the club in establishing, maintaining, and nurturing many of Guilford's most enjoyable public plantings, its members are putting on a Nov. 15 fashion show and luncheon fundraiser, "Couture for the Season."
Those interested in supporting the club's efforts, while finding out which fashions are in season and enjoying a delightful luncheon at a beautiful seaside venue, are encouraged to attend. Ticket reservations are being accepted now through Friday, Nov. 8.
"Couture for the Season" will be held at Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club in Branford at noon on Nov. 15. The fashion portion of the event will feature Leetes Island Garden Club members modeling clothing and accessories from Tracy Brent Collections of Guilford, Country Shop of Madison, and Saybrook Country Barn of Old Saybrook. Leetes Island Garden Club member Jean Valenntine will emcee the fun fashion show.
When they're not walking the runway, members of Leetes Island Garden Club maintain planters around the Guilford Town Green (on Whitfield Street and Boston Street), Leete's Island Lane (next to Guilford Food Center), and the many plantings at the Guilford Town Marina.
All proceeds from "Couture for the Season" will help the club continue to serve the Guilford community.
Leetes Island Garden Club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc.; Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc.; and New England Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
"Couture for the Season" is on Friday, Nov. 15 at noon at Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club in Branford. Tickets are $35; the reservation deadline is Friday, Nov. 8. For reservations, contact Barbara Henningson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 203-458-0291.
