Old Saybrook -- The Old Saybrook Land Trust will host its annual Thanksgiving weekend hike on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Preserve property.
The family-friendly hike of the 1,000-acre property will be at a leisurely pace to include time for questions and to take in the unique features of the coastal forest. The trails are clear, but can be rocky, so sturdy footwear is recommended. This is not a strenuous hike, but there are a few hilly sections.
Parking is limited at the trailhead, so hikers will meet at the Great Cedars West parking lot on Ingham Hill Road for carpooling to the trail.
The property is not generally open to the public, but The Trust for Public Land has access with permission as they work with other groups including the land trust to make the permanent protection of this large tract of coastal forest a reality.
Those who plan to attend should contact the land trust at: email@example.com or call (860) 575-4831.
