New London — Two New London men were arrested Sunday night for allegedly robbing at gunpoint a group of men of an iphone 5 in the parking lot of the Wendy's restaurant on Colman Street.

Police said the incident happened at about 10:45 p.m. The victims followed the suspects who fled in a vehicle into Waterford. The victims called police as they followed the robbers.

Waterford police stopped the suspect vehicle and detained the men until New London police arrived. Police said a stolen .357 revolver was recovered in the car.

Shaquan Seales, 19, of 7 Griswold Court, and Yojang Torres, 19, of 168 Laurel Drive, were each charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

Seales was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, fifth-degree larceny, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a pistol without a permit and theft of a firearm.

Police said the victims and the suspects are known to each other, and the incident does not appear to be a random act of violence.
