Saybrook BOE Wins CABE Board of Distinction Award

The Old Saybrook Board of Education has been awarded The Level II Board of Distinction Award. This award is reserved for boards that are "truly exemplary," according to the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE). Only boards that have achieved Level I distinction at least twice in the prior four years are eligible to receive the Level II Board of Distinction Award. Additional Level II requirements include attainment of two criteria in each Level II category. The Old Saybrook Board of Education has been honored with the Level II Board of Distinction Award four times in the last four years.

Annually, CABE recognizes boards of education and superintendents for exhibiting the most effective leadership through their ability to work together as teams. The CABE Board Recognition Awards are designed to recognize boards that work effectively in this manner. The Level 1 award is given for this purpose.
