Driver injured after Waterford to Groton chase

Waterford _ Police say an erratic driver was seriously injured early this morning after leading police on a chase from Quaker Hill to Groton.

Police said the pursuit began around 3:15 a.m. on Route 32 and an officer lost sight of the vehicle after it exited Interstate 95 northbound at exit 85 in Groton. Another officer found that the vehicle had crashed into the woods and the driver had suffered serious injuries. Police did not say where the crash took place.

State Police have taken over the investigation. No further information is available.
