Share a meal, save the Hills

Friends and supporters of Save the River-Save the Hills will host a fundraiser on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Flanders Fish Market, 22 Chesterfield Road, East Lyme. The evening will include dinner and an auction with "dueling auctioneers" East Lyme First Selectman Paul Formica and Waterford First Selectman Dan Steward.

The menu features appetizers, pasta dishes, salad and bread, and a glass of wine or beer, plus desserts and coffee and tea. Tickets are $30 for adults; $15 for kids 12 and younger and can be ordered in advance from Eileen O'Pasek at (860) 439-1687.

Proceeds will benefit Save the River-Save the Hills, a nonprofit organization that seeks to protect the last 238 acres of the Oswegatchie Hills from development and to preserve the Niantic River estuary.
