New London police arrest man on weapons violations

New London — Police detectives seized a gun as they served a warrant at an Oneco Avenue home Friday night and arrested the 20-year-old resident there, police said.

Police served the search-and-seizure warrant at 8:18 p.m. at 171 Oneco Ave., No. 3.

Jaden Alvarez was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Alvarez was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond. The investigation is continuing, and more charges and arrests are expected, police said.
