Sheep get a haircut in Lyme

Colin Siegmund, front, of Thompson, and Jeff Traver, of Clinton Corners, N.Y., shear sheep at Sankow's Beaver Brook Farm in Lyme on Sunday. The weekend following Thanksgiving is Beaver Brook's traditional Farm Day, when the sheep are shorn and visitors can sample meats and cheeses and take tractor-drawn hayrides. However, Sunday's events, except for the sheep shearing, which had to be done anyway, were canceled because of the weather.
