St. Joseph topples Ledyard 84-49 in Class M quarters

Trumbull —Mufasha Abdul Basir rushed for five touchdowns and Shane Miller accounted for four more more as second-seeded St. Joseph, which once trailed 35-34, roared back for an 84-49 win over No. 7 Ledyard in the CIAC Class M football quarterfinals Tuesday night at Trumbull High School.

Quarterback Ty Ebdon threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth for the Colonels, River Thomas was on the receiving end of 43 and 22 yard TD strikes and Jordan Kowalski caught a 37-yard TD while running for touchdowns of 3 and 20 yards.

Ledyard's other touchdown came on a 90-yard kickoff return by Joe Carter in the first quarter.

Jordan Vazzano has added three TD passes for the Cadets, two to Miller.
