Two local ceremonies to remember Pearl Harbor

Two local ceremonies will mark National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Sat., Dec. 7.

The Mystic Hugo A. Simonelli Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3263 will hold a service at 11 a.m., at the post home, 60 Stonington Road (Route 1) in Mystic. The public is invited to attend.

The public is also invited to the U.S. Submarine Veterans Groton Base annual Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony at the U.S. Submarine Veterans WWII National Memorial East at Bridge and Thames streets in Groton. The ceremony starts at 12:45 p.m. and includes a gun salute.
