Danielson — Two people were arrested Monday night after police said they were selling heroin from their home at 75 Prospect Ave. in the presence of children.

Jamie Krajewski, 25, and Bethany Krajewski, 40, were each charged with possession of a restricted substance, failure to keep narcotics in their original container and risk of injury to a minor. Police did not say how the two are related.

Police said they executed a search-and-seizure warrant at the Prospect Avenue residence at about 5:10 p.m. after an investigation uncovered that heroin was being sold there.

When police entered the home, they said they discovered five children under the age of 10 living in deplorable conditions. The Department of Children and Families took custody of the children, the youngest of which is 6 months old.

Police said they seized 200 prescription tablets and packaging equipment. The tablets were within reach of the children, police said.

Both Krajewskis were released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and are scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Jan. 8.

I am not a gun owner and I will sleep better knowing that we are doing more to keep track of gun ownership in our state.

I am not a gun owner but I feel that these registration requirements and bans infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of those who wish to own weapons.

As a gun owner, I support these registrations and bans. Irresponsible gun owners give a bad name to the rest of us who exercise our Second Amendment rights responsibly. Guns are only as safe as the people who own them.

As a gun owner, I will be registering my weapons. Whether I agree with the reasoning behind it or not, the threat of a minimum of one year in prison for violations is enough incentive for me to comply.

As a gun owner, I feel these mandatory registrations and the bans infringe upon my rights. I am a responsible citizen and I will be exercising my Second Amendment rights by refusing to comply with these mandates.
