American Legion invites area veterans to benefits info session

Montville — The American Legion invites all wartime veterans in the area to visit the Montville American Legion Post 112 to learn more about the Legion and veterans’ benefits.

Officers and staff members from the Legion’s national headquarters in Indianapolis and state headquarters in Rocky Hill and local post members will be in town to kick off this community and veteran service campaign. They will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Thursday, Jan. 23, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, January 24 at Post 112, 89 Pink Row, Uncasville.

An American Legion service officer will also be available to help with claims and answer questions.

“The New London County area is an ideal place to strengthen partnerships between the veterans and the community,” said Robert Murray, commander of the Legion in Connecticut. “The people here care about their community and practice good citizenship every day. Now, wartime veterans have a special place from which they can make a difference.”
