Introduction to Encaustic Painting: Sunday, Jan. 26 from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $125 plus $35 material fee. Explore the luminous beauty and versatility of painting with molten, pigmented beeswax. Build layers, texture, fuse, stencil, embed objects, image transfer, and collage. No experience required.
Drawing I for Beginners: Mondays, Jan. 27; Feb. 3, 10, 17, and 24; and March 3. Make-up class held March 10. 1 to 3:30 p.m. Cost: $125. Observe and learn to draw forms and shapes. Develop perspective, work with line, contour, shading, and tonal values. Use charcoal, grease pencils, and pastels. Beginners welcome. Material list available.
Drawing II for Advanced Beginners: Tuesdays, Jan. 28; Feb. 4, 11, 18, and 25; and March 4. Make-up class held March 11. 1 to 3:30 p.m. Cost: $125. Take drawing to the next level by combining shapes and forms into two- and three-D figures. Focus on composition, perspective, background/ foreground, shadow, light, and tones of gray, black, and white. Learn to setup a still life and create a human figure. Pastels, color pencils, chalk, and charcoal. Material list available.
Intro to Digital Photography: Sunday, Feb. 2. 1 to 4 p.m. $70. Exposure, shutter speed, white balance, depth-of-field, and camera settings and gear. Learn digital editing, printing, and online sharing.
Valentine Origami: Sunday, Feb. 9. 1 to 4 p.m. Cost: $40 plus $5 material fee. Have fun folding origami hearts just in time for Valentines Day. Learn to fold two different origami pieces. Materials available to create handmade cards using your hearts. Open to new and experienced folders.
