Dean's List for Fall 2013

The following residents were named to the dean's, presidents', and/or merit lists at their respective colleges and universities for the fall 2013 semester, unless otherwise noted. The student's class year is that which pertained at the time of the achievement.

• Bryant University: Alec Boucher of Branford, a freshman with an undeclared major; Keegan Burke of North Branford, a senior majoring in politics and law; Joseph Cambino of Branford, a freshman with an undeclared major; Erika Krischtschun of Branford, a senior majoring in accounting; Alexa Parisi of Branford, a freshman majoring in communication; Michael Richitelli of Branford, a senior majoring in financial services; Courtney Schissler of Branford, a senior majoring in communication; and Madeline Simonsen of North Branford, a senior majoring in computer information systems.

• Connecticut College: Christopher Giri of Branford (junior, dean's honors), and Summer Irving of Branford (sophomore, dean's high honors).

• Eastern Connecticut State University: Kyle Hottin of North Branford, a freshman.

• Keene State College: Zachary Bassett of Branford, Taylor Ciambra of Northford, Kelsey Durato of Branford, Chloe Higley of Branford, Grace Kosciuk of Branford, and Michael Matthews of North Branford.

• King's College: Nicolle Finn of Northford.

• Nichols College: Jordan D'Aurio of Northford, dean's high honors.

• Providence College: Alexander Acunzo of Branford, a junior; Julia Allain of North Branford, a senior; Kylie Broughal of Branford, a senior; Bridget Laske of Branford, a senior; and Caitlin Tucker of Branford, a senior. Acunzo is studying in Copenhagen in the spring; he is one of the founders of the Entrepreneurial Society, active in student Congress, and a member of the Friars Club.

• Southern New Hampshire University, Spring and Fall, 2013: Christopher Vailette, Jr., of Branford, the son of Christopher, Sr., and Sharon Vailette.

Academic and Extracurricular Achievements

Samantha Bailey-Loomis, the daughter of Crystal Bailey-Loffredo and Michael Loffredo, was recognized as the Branford Rotary Club's Student of the Month for December.

Brad S. Crerar of Branford earned a Master of Health Science Physician Assistant degree from Quinnipiac University and has accepted a position at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he practices as a physician assistant specializing in cardiothoracic surgery. A 2007 graduate of North Branford High School, he currently resides on the upper west side in New York City.

Mae Hanson of Branford was part of a student-faculty team at Pomfret School that worked together on a project entitled "Place and Possibility: Making Beauty, Pursuing Truth, Doing Goodness."

Dayna Hagewood was recognized as the North Branford Rotary Club's Youth of the Month.

Jennifer Platt of Branford is one of six physician assistant students from Quinnipiac University who took part in a medical services trip to the Dominican Republic with Health Horizons International.

Career Achievements

Michael Demetriades, DPT, has been appointed clinical supervisor at the new Branford facility for Woodbridge-based Amity Physical Therapy.

Preeti Kapoor of North Branford has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct sales company.
