More laws needed to protect horses

I am writing out of concern and love for horses. I called the Humane Society to complain about a farm with a bunch of neglected, malnourished horses; no run-in shed, a frozen solid pond they paw at for water. They are all very boney looking. It's wrong, especially if they are getting paid to board them.

The Humane Society said call your dog warden. I did, no one called back. I called the Connecticut Department of Agriculture, they said call your dog warden. Around and around in a circle. Don't we have horse rescue groups?

I think the legislature needs to pass some laws in Hartford on the ethical treatment of horses and large animals. Let's get our priorities straight in 2014. Save our horses, they have been a part of the world's history since the beginning.
