Foxwoods names chief operating officer

Mashantucket — Foxwoods Resort Casino has named Felix Rappaport chief operating officer.

Rappaport, 61, former president and chief operating officer of MGM Resorts International’s The Mirage in Las Vegas, will be “a leader” in all aspects of the casino’s operations, including gaming, marketing, entertainment, retail and food and beverage, Foxwoods said in a statement.

“Felix has been a leader in the gaming community and has been in charge of operations at the finest resorts in the industry,” Scott Butera, Foxwoods’ president and chief executive officer, said. “He is a true team player and will be a strong asset to the Foxwoods community. I and the rest of the team are greatly looking forward to working with him.”

Rappaport has more than 32 years’ experience in the hospitality and gaming industries, and has been a gaming executive for the last 25 years. He resigned from The Mirage in December 2012.
