Police say shot fired at car in Norwich

Norwich — State police are asking for the public’s help finding the suspect in a shooting incident late Thursday that involved a gunshot fired from one vehicle at another on Route 2.

The shooting was reported by the victim, who reported his car was shot by a passing car, police said. Troopers responded to Interstate 395 in Norwich and confirmed the man’s car was struck by a bullet.

Investigating detectives from the state police Eastern District Major Crime Squad determined that the shooting occurred on Route 2 East in Norwich. The occupants of the victim’s vehicle told police that at about 11:30 p.m., while traveling on Route 2, a passing vehicle threw an object and later shot at their vehicle.

Police reported no injuries and said physical evidence was recovered.
