Norwich police investigating armed home invasion

Norwich — Police are investigating the armed home invasion of a home at 45 Union St.

Police said they responded to the residence at about 1:24 a.m. The suspects allegedly entered the home and fired several shots from a handgun towards people inside and then fled on foot up Union Street.

The suspects are described as two males, one of which is either Hispanic or a light skinned black male approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a mask partially covering his face. The second suspect is described as a shorter black male.

The incident does not appear to be a random act of violence and there were no injuries reported, police said.

Police are reviewing surveillance video from the downtown city cameras, which may have shown the suspects fleeing the area.
