Groton – Connecticut Sea Grant, located at the University of Connecticut's Avery Point campus, on Thursday announced four new grants totaling $ 491,750 for four research projects that will take place over the next two years.
These grants will fund research focusing on the ecosystems and natural resources of Long Island Sound and Connecticut's shoreline communities.
In addition to these research projects, Connecticut Sea Grant funds a variety of regional social science projects, including its recent Coastal Storm Awareness Program. Connecticut Sea Grant is a state and federal partnership through the UConn and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Sea Grant College Program that supports aquatic and marine research, education, and outreach, with an emphasis on Long Island Sound.
