Minimum wage hike only rewards failure

On March 31, 2008, then-Sen. Barack Obama told a crowd at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, "I take the Constitution very seriously." He went on to say that one of the country's biggest problems was the use of executive power by then-President Bush, adding, "That's what I intend to reverse when I'm president."

Now he proposes to shove down our throats, in violation of that promise, a new "minimum wage" if he does not get his way. This minimum wage increase will do little good for those effected and for a very short time before mass inflation and job cutting will take place. What it will do is inflate costs for us all, squeeze the middle class more and be a disaster.

Really, if you are not in high school working a part-time job why are you working for minimum wage? Anyone over 25, and not having a severe impediment, should be working for more. If you need a minimum wage job after 25 it is likely because of bad choices and/or work habits. Read that to mean you screwed up, dropped out of school, used drugs, have a criminal record or are just too lazy to improve yourself.

Don't whine and complain if you are the cause of your own failure.
