Didn't Congress learn anything in election?

We are facing our worst deficit on record and this Congress is frantically trying to come up with more of our money to continue the same spending. Some in Congress still want to raise taxes on the wealthy and increase the estate tax.

These members want to punish the wealthy for their successm enable irresponsible congressional spending and avoid the difficult option of cutting spending and the size of government.

The latest 1,500 page bill for government spending is more than $1 trillion and includes 6,500 earmarks - and members of Congress had only three days to read, discuss and vote on it before their Christmas break. Did the election results fall on deaf ears?

Estate taxes on estates valued at more than $5 million include farms, which force the children to sell the land. It forces the kids to sell the family business, destroying those jobs.

We need to pressure our representatives to take the morally correct step of becoming fiscally responsible. If we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem.
