Why in the world would anyone think that cutting down approximately 40 pine trees at the Waterford High School is a good idea? These pine trees are great year-round trees that provide a nice landscape around the new high school. The Board of Education is calling them a potential safety hazard. OK, they drop pine needles on the tennis courts, but that can be fixed with a broom and a few minutes of time. Just seems wrong to cut down trees that have been around for over 30-plus years. It makes me wonder what the real reason is for wanting to cut down the trees?
