Why in the world would anyone think that cutting down approximately 40 pine trees at the Waterford High School is a good idea? These pine trees are great year-round trees that provide a nice landscape around the new high school. The Board of Education is calling them a potential safety hazard. OK, they drop pine needles on the tennis courts, but that can be fixed with a broom and a few minutes of time. Just seems wrong to cut down trees that have been around for over 30-plus years. It makes me wonder what the real reason is for wanting to cut down the trees?

What do you think about the partnership between the Girl Scouts and Mattel, which includes a Barbie participation patch?
It is product placement at its worst.
It's not a good match for Girl Scouts. Barbie idealizes an impossible body type.
It's a great match. Barbie shows girls they can be anything they want to be.
If it means funding for an educational, community-building program for girls, then it's fine by me.
