New London -- Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio announced today that City Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics Nathan Caron will resign effective April 4.
“Caron has been an outstanding public servant,” said Finizio in a statement. “I’m grateful for the level of professionalism and courtesy he brought to the City Clerk’s office, and I’m sure he will be successful in his next undertaking.”
Caron has served as city clerk since Finizio took office.
“Serving the people of New London and the surrounding communities has been a tremendous honor,” said Caron. “I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to interact with people at some of the most poignant moments of life: the birth of a child, the union of two souls through marriage, and the closure one attains by way of a death certificate.”
Assistant City Clerk Dawn Currier will serve as acting City Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics until the position is permanently filled.
