New London — Police charged four people Sunday with home invasion after they allegedly beat and robbed a man of his game console and $20 at his Blackhall Street home.
Ricardo Cruz, 37, of no certain address, Juan Cruz, 37, of no certain address, Naines Oliver, 27, of no certain address, and Jessica Anello, 30, of 53 Shaw St., Apt. 3, were each charged home invasion, first-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
Police said at about 3:36 p.m. the victim came to the police station to report that he was robbed and beaten at his home. Police said he had a visible head injury.
The victim told police that two men and two women entered his house and demanded money. The men punched him in the head and in the face while the women entered a common living area in the residence and stole a PlayStation 3 game console. The victim was also robbed of $20.
The victim was able to give police a description of the suspects and said the men looked alike. Police said the Cruz brothers are identical twins.
The brothers were also charged with second-degree assault and interfering with police.
Ricardo Cruz was also charged with assault on a police officer.
Oliver and Anello were each charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery.
They are all being held on bond, pending their arraignment today in New London Superior Court.
Police said their investigation continues.
