Norwich -- Thirty-five physicians on the medical staff of The William W. Backus Hospital have been named to Connecticut Magazine’s annual listing of “top doctors” in the state, the hospital announced Friday.
The listing was included in the magazine’s April edition.
Selections are based on questionnaires the magazine sent to doctors across the state, asking them to recommend a physician to whom they’d send a loved one. The top vote-getters make the list.
This year’s winners includes: anesthesiologists: Adam Goldstein, Michael N. Loiacono, Paul A. Pudimat and John M. Satterfield; bariatric medicine: Mark Tousignant; gastroenterologist You Sung Sang;infectious disease specialist Michael Rajkumar; internal medicine specialist Mahesh Kabadi; neurologists Anis Racy and John Tauro; neurosurgereon Camille Salame; obstetrician-gynecologist Stephen Briggs; oncologists-hematologists Mandeep Dhami, Dinesh Kapur and Dennis Slater; ophthalmologists Kevin Cranmer and Jeffrey Hertz; otolaryngologists Jerilyn Allen, Steven Green and Stephen Rouse’ pediatrician Laurentiu Galan; physical medicine specialists Joseph O’Keefe and Joseph Peters; podiatrist Jeffrey Kierstein; pulmonologists Steve Powell and Donna Romito; rheumatologists Harjinder Chowdhary, Robert Levin and Sandeep Varma; colorectal surgeon Sergio Casillas; general surgeo David Coletti; thoracic surgeons Mario Katigbak and Robert Lowe; and urologists Franklin Friedman amd T.
