Some pit bulls make wonderful, loving pets

In 2004, I went to the Humane Society to adopt. When I saw Charlie Brown, I fell madly in love with her. She was only eight-weeks-old, and adorable. She put her little furry face against mine, gave me the most loving look, and that did it for me. The fact that she was a pit bull did not matter. Charlie Brown has a sensitivity about her that is phenomenal. If I am upset, she will sit by me, giving me the saddest look, and she will not leave my side.

On the other hand, I still have the scar under my eye from a bite by a German Shepherd. I've also been bitten by a beagle and pug.

Back in 2007, Charlie Brown was seriously injured. She had to endure painful medical procedures, but she did not attempt to bite anyone. When my father was spending his last days on Earth in a nursing home, Charlie would carefully lay with him in his bed, and it was very comforting. I know dogs don't have a long life span, but Charlie Brown will carry wonderful memories with me until we are reunited in Heaven. I won't hesitate to adopt another pit bull.
