Mystic - More than 8.000 easter eggs with surprises will be strewn around the apple orchard and gazebo at Olde Mistick Village Saturday as it holds its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Pet Easter Bonnet Contest.
From noon to 1 p.m. children two years old and younger will look for eggs in the gazebo and then get to meet the Easter Bunny,
Egg hunting in the apple orchard will take place at noon for three year olds; 12:15 p.m. for four year olds; 12:30 p.m. for those 5-7, and 12:45 p.m. for children 8-10. In the event of rain, all eggs will be available in the Gazebo area.
At 1 p.m., pet owners can enter their pet in the Easter Bonnet Contest on the Gazebo Green. Sponsored by Raining Cats and Dogs, judging starts at 2 p.m. The entry fee is $10 per pet with all proceeds benefiting the Dog Scouts of America Troop #188.
