Waterford — Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Wednesday night at the Cumberland Farms at 45 Norwich Road.

Police said that around 10:30 p.m., a man entered the gas station convenience store and displayed a knife to the female attendant. The suspect reportedly then chased the attendant, who ran outside.

The suspect followed the attendant and knocked her down, according to police. The attendant then reportedly screamed and the suspect ran off.

Police say they do not have a good description of the suspect and only know that the suspect was male.

The suspect did not succeed in stealing anything from the store, according to police.
