The Day was correct in the April 13 editorial, "State's gun laws working as intended."
We know now the intention all along was to make a constitutional right into a privilege. We all know the laws concerning a privilege can be changed at the whim of politicians at any time. Is it any wonder so many citizens in this state refused to register their AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles? Gun owners in New York state are also refusing to do the same. Our politicians, who took an oath to uphold the Constitution, but refuse to do so, are in quite the predicament.
We witnessed fed-up Americans come to the aid of the Bundy family against an overly aggressive federal government, fully armed. One can only ask, will it happen here in Connecticut if the government starts to confiscate unregistered rifles?
I guess if you like your Constitution you can keep it.
