I write in response to your reader who maintains in his letter entitled, "Evolutionists sleep in on Sunday mornings," (April, 4), that the scientific community, by trying to prove there is no God, are trying to justify why they sleep late or play golf on Sunday mornings.
This is a rather insulting assumption on his part. I, and other evolutionist friends, really like an early morning hike in the woods, or, if the weather is bad, reading another chapter in our book on paleobotany. A good book for him to study would be, "The Evolution of Plants," published by the Cambridge University Press. A simple internet search of Wikipedia on this subject will help too. These will answer his question, "Which came first the seed or the tree?" They may also have him thinking more kindly of those of us in the scientific/evolutionary camp.
